Danielle Powell, LCSW, PMH-C, SEP

Clinical Supervisor, Psychotherapist

I specialize in perinatal mental health, parent-child relationships, and relational trauma recovery. My work integrates psychodynamic and body-based approaches including EMDR and Somatic Experiencing. I bring warmth, clinical depth, and lived experience as a mother into my practice with individuals, children, and families.

I love working with parents and young children because the first several years of a child's life are often the most formative in creating the basis for how they relate to themselves, others, and the world. As a parent, we are given the immense task of shaping these attachment styles and providing a predictable, nurturing, and stable environment for our child to thrive within.

I am a certified clinician in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy from PCIT International and hold certification in Perinatal Mental Heath Counselor (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International. As a PMH-C, I am credentialed in treating Maternal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, such as Postpartum Depression or Anxiety. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based treatment for trauma and psychological stress.

I am also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), a therapeutic modality aimed at releasing traumatic experiences and distressful emotions that the body can hold. Somatic Experiencing borrows ancient and indigenous healing modalities while incorporating modern psychology and science about how to body stores trauma.

I hold significant training and experience in play therapy and sand tray work with children. I am continually inspired by the symbolism and archetypes that bring children’s language of play into light.

I also provide clinical supervision for therapists undergoing licensure or looking to deepend aspects of their therapeutic practice.

My past experience includes psychotherapy work for children within foster care, intensive in-home psychotherapy for children and their families, birth-to-five early intervention program management, mental health consulting for teachers and parents in Head Start, and as a psychiatric residential treatment center counselor. I’m a graduate of Fordham University with a BS in Psychology and Tulane University with my Master’s in Social Work.

Caroline Schuck, LMFT-LP

Psychotherapist

At the core of my therapeutic work is supporting individuals, couples, and families on their journey toward a more fulfilling life. I specialize in maternal and parental mental health and know that each individual and family unit comes with their own unique contexts and goals. I have specific experience working with clients who are navigating parental wounds, conception journeys, identity politics, and grief. My clients and I work collaboratively to deepen their understanding of what they are experiencing and support them in moving through it in a way that is authentic to them.

In addition to my work as a therapist, I am a doula, yoga teacher, artist, and Triple P Positive Parenting Practitioner. I graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Integrated Practices. These studies led me to study Marriage and Family Therapy at Appalachian State University from which I completed my Master's degree. From this work I have developed a passion for building up a system of support for those navigating the complexities that come with birth and parenthood and have learned to encourage many languages of connection and healing.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I work from a systemic lens with individuals, couples, and families. I strive to assist clients in strengthening their body-mind connection, uplifting their internal resources, and embodying a more balanced life. I use modalities that are informed by but are not limited to Emotionally Focused Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness, Breathwork and Movement, Internal Family Systems, Play Therapy, and Parent Child Interaction Therapy. I encourage you to reach out if you think we may be a good fit!
